This advanced fly fishing course option aims to take you to the next level. A level which provides you with all the necessary fly fishing skills and knowledge to deploy any number of skilled fly casts & fly fishing techniques to cope with almost any situation.
Although the advanced fly fishing course is tailored specifically for you, the following is some of the typical elements covered within the course.
It's by no means exhaustive and in no way meant to be formal, we'll be out on the water doing all the fly fishing stuff, lots of talking, the
sharing of knowledge & having some great fun at the same time:
- Review of fly fishing outfit to improve line & leader set up
(Furled & Singapore leaders)
- Roll cast techniques
(Jump Roll & hauling techniques)
- Overhead fly cast
(Loop control, hauling to improve loop speed & line distance)
- Directional change casts
(Single and double Speys, Snake roll, Snap 'T' casts)
- Dry fly presentations for drag free drifts
(Mends, reach, curve & slack line casts)
- Dry fly, wet fly & nymphing techniques
- River fly casting techniques
(Confined/Obstructed location casts)
All your fly fishing tackle is provided FREE for the duration of the tuition.
The above advanced fly fishing casts can be taught at almost any location. A number of the casting techniques however are best suited to certain conditions and specific locations (These will be discussed and covered prior to the tuition)
Advanced fly fishing tuition can be conducted on any of the chalkstream, river or stillwater venues listed depending on conditions, locations, and the types of water you're likely to have access to.
All part, full day and extended fly fishing courses are based on a 1-2-1 principle unless you're actually bringing a friend or a partner. You'll have my total & undivided attention for the duration of your course.
